Gallanach - Kerrera Ferry

The Kerrera Ferry was the last private lifeline ferry service and was taken over by Calmac in 2017. A new vessel was built specifically for the route and after an island wide consultation, she was named Carvoria, which is cited as a name that the locals used for Kerrera in the 1700's.

She can carry up to 12 passengers and a vehicle (residents only I'm afraid!) and can make the crossing in under 5 minutes.

IKDT have been representing the community throughout the whole take over process and currently chair the Kerrera Ferry Committee. At these quarterly meetings we work with Transport Scotland and Calmac to help shape and improve the service for the community of Kerrera and visitors to the island.

Please note that the last scheduled ferry off the island each day is 17:55pm. You can book a 7pm ferry but this must be done 24 hours in advance through the Calmac website.
