Our island response to the coronavirus pandemic, including guidance for visitors
To raise funds for our big community project- to renovate the old primary school into a new community centre, two young islanders challenged themselves to an awesome task, to swim from the mainland to Kerrera- in December!
We now are the proud owners of the old school building!!! Now the work begins to renovate it into our new community centre. We are also delighted to have recruited islander Aideen Shields as our new Project Manager, check our Projects page for further information.
The Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform visits Kerrera to hear more about the project to redevelop the school into a community hub. Read more here.

For last year’s AGM we worked out that IKDT's directors had clocked over 1000 hours of volunteer time across the year ...
Huge progress has been made! With funding from the Scottish Government and Project Management from the IKDT, construction of our connecting road began in August 2022. The community were thrilled to be connected and walked the road for the first time together in November 2022.
